iPhone Duo Price, Specs and Release Date, Plus How It Compares to the 18 Pro Max, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPad mini

The iPhone Duo costs $1,999 for the 256 GB model. The biggest one, 2 TB, costs $3,199.
It goes on sale on Friday 23 October 2026. You can order it from 16 October.
In India it costs ₹2,99,900. Apple has not given a price for Bangladesh. Shops there are listing it around ৳3,80,000, but that is a guess, not Apple's number.

What the battery numbers really mean
Apple gives three numbers. All of them are for playing video.

Playing video is the easiest test a phone can take. Real use is harder on the battery.
The useful part is the gap between the numbers. The small outside screen uses about 40% less power than the big one.
So if you keep it closed for messages and only open it when you need the big screen, 31 hours is believable. If you open it every time your phone buzzes, expect a normal day like any other phone.
There are two batteries inside, one in each half. That is how Apple made each side thin.

Same chip in both.
The Pro Max has a better camera. It has a real zoom lens instead of cropping into the main one. It also has Face ID. And it costs $700 less.
The only thing the Duo gives you is the big screen. If you do not want a small tablet in your pocket, buy the Pro Max.

Samsung is $100 cheaper. It handles more apps at once. And Android apps have been ready for folding phones for years.
Apple wins on water and dust. IP68 means you can drop it in a pool. IP48 means dust can get in.
Apple also wins on one small thing that matters daily. Both Apple screens are the same shape, so when you open the phone, apps do not jump around. On the Samsung, the outside screen is narrow and the inside is square, so apps rearrange themselves.
Buy whichever matches the phone you already have.
iPhone Duo vs iPad mini
This is the comparison most people are actually making.
An iPad mini is $599. Apple put the price up by $100 in June 2026. An iPhone 18 Pro Max is $1,299. Together that is $1,898.
The Duo is $1,999. So you pay about $100 more to carry one thing instead of two. The tablet screen is a bit smaller, 7.6 inch instead of 8.3 inch, and there is no Apple Pencil.
If you own both today and the mini lives in your bag, the Duo replaces them. If the mini lives on your sofa, keep them both.
The problem on day one: apps
Apple has told developers this plainly. Any app that has not been rebuilt with the new tools will show up small, in the middle of the big screen, with black bars around it.
The big apps will fix this in the first few weeks. The smaller ones will take months. Some will never do it.
So buy it for the phone, not for the apps. At least until the new year.
Should you buy one?
Yes if you already carry an iPhone and an iPad mini and you are tired of two devices.
Yes if you film people. The Duo shows your subject their own face on the outside screen while you shoot with the good rear cameras. Every person who has ever said "move a bit left" wants this.
No if you want the best camera. That is the 18 Pro Max, and it costs $700 less.
No if you can wait a year. Apple's second version of anything is always cheaper, thinner and better.
